Vietnam-Korea Cultural Exchange program to take place in May

The Vietnam Women’s Union in South Korea will host a Vietnam-South Korea cultural exchange event on May 7 to promote Vietnamese culture and strengthen bilateral ties. Hanoi hosts the Vietnam-South Korea Cultural Exchange in 2022. Photo: The Hanoi Times The event is part of activities in celebration of the 31st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea. The program covers a wide range of activities, including a fashion show hosted by the Sen Viet Club, a Vietnamese-South Korean singing competition, and a performance of traditional musical instruments. Participants can also enjoy traditional Vietnamese folk games such as shuttlecock competition, cheraw dance, and charity activities. Vietnamese regional specialties will also be offered at the event, as well as the conical hat drawing and the lucky draw for souvenirs. Me Linh Flower Festival to be held in Hanoi every November

Stunning beauty of 300-year-old Hoa Bun tree in Hanoi

The 30-metre-high tree is noted for its large, thick foliage which brings cool air to villagers. The flowers consist of white and yellow petals and are widely known by their Vietnamese names as Bach Hoa and Man Man. The tree can be seen in full bloom between March and April each year. This species is often planted in Quang Nam, Ninh Thuan, and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, but is rarely seen in Hanoi. These flowers are most commonly found in Ha Dong and Dong Da districts of the capital. The tree’s charming beauty creates a peaceful state of mind for onlookers to enjoy. Visitors are able to enjoy the pleasant aroma coming from the flowers. Indeed, when they start to bloom, the pistils appear similar to noodles.
