Vietnam-US Partnership Increases Possibilities for Growth in Semiconductor Industry

Vietnam and US Firms Sign Three Memorandums to Enhance Semiconductor Industry Vietnamese government bodies and US businesses have entered into three memorandums, aiming to improve the design and production of semiconductors and strengthen workforce training in the industry. The signing ceremony took place in Washington, US on September 19, 2023, and was attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper, and President and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association John Neuffer. The National Innovation Center under the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment signed a memorandum with Cadence Design Systems to collaborate on semiconductor design and production. UNESCO Grants World Heritage Status to Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago

At the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, UNESCO officially announced the inclusion of the Vietnamese site to its list of world heritage sites. The announcement was made at 9:39 pm (Vietnam time) on the same day. The Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago is an exceptional world heritage site, recognized by UNESCO as Vietnam’s first inter-provincial destination. The Cat Ba Archipelago, located in Hai Phong, a prominent port city in northern Vietnam, is renowned for being the largest limestone archipelago in the country. With over 360 islands, it encompasses Cat Ba Island, situated to the south of Ha Long Bay. According to a report from the government news site baochinhphu.vn, the archipelago has previously been designated as a world biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Ha Long Bay, situated in the adjacent Quang Ninh Province, has been granted the prestigious status of being a world heritage site not once, but twice, by UNESCO in the years 1994 and 2000. ...

Launch of Vietnam Days in South Africa 2023

The event was organized by the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with partners, to commemorate the official visit of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to South Africa from September 14th to September 17th. The event showcased a photo exhibition highlighting the vibrancy and hospitality of Vietnam, as well as its UNESCO-recognized world cultural heritage sites, traditional festivals, the characteristics of a wet rice civilization, and Dong Ho folk paintings. Visitors also had the opportunity to witness the traditional process of printing paintings from woodblocks onto paper. Vietnam Makes China a Key Priority in Foreign Policy
