Launch of Vietnam Days in South Africa 2023

The event was organized by the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with partners, to commemorate the official visit of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to South Africa from September 14th to September 17th.

The event showcased a photo exhibition highlighting the vibrancy and hospitality of Vietnam, as well as its UNESCO-recognized world cultural heritage sites, traditional festivals, the characteristics of a wet rice civilization, and Dong Ho folk paintings.

Visitors also had the opportunity to witness the traditional process of printing paintings from woodblocks onto paper.

The Vietnamese cultural space in South Africa marked the beginning of the “Vietnam Days Abroad 2023” series of events.

This cultural diplomacy activity was also the first of its kind to be held in Africa. Subsequent Vietnam Cultural Spaces will be held in France and Japan in October and November, respectively.
