Vietnam National Tourism Year 2023 promotes green tourism

The tourism year features 204 cultural, sports and tourism events, including 13 national-scale events hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Thousands converge on the main stage erected in Tien Thanh commune of Phan Thiet City to watch the ceremony. An art performance is staged at the opening ceremony. An international cuisine festival, a rowing and canoeing competition, and a national golf championship are expected to take place on this occasion. Hanoi plans to resume leisure activities at West Lake

Hanoi plans to resume some entertainment and sports services at West Lake, which have been suspended for more than six years.   The space around the West Lake. Photo: Nghiem Binh The municipal People’s Committee has recently announced the draft of the “West Lake Management Regulation” for public comment, starting from March 22. According to the draft, 12 types of services would be allowed to operate on the surface of the West Lake, including tourist boats, cruises, canoes, water bicycles (daytime only); boating services (including kayaking, sup and traditional boating); windsurfing and sailing; and scuba diving. Hanoi will also promote other cultural services on the West Lake, such as water music performances, hot air ballooning and paragliding services, and the construction of a floating golf course. The event drew the virtual and in-person participation of more than 200 domestic and foreign experts. It was jointly organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation. Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, deputy head of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, said: “The participants discussed the role of international law in assuring security for the infrastructure needed to build a renewable power grid.
