Vietnams GDP Growth Maintains Top Position in Southeast Asia: World Bank

The latest data report from the World Bank has analyzed the economies in Southeast Asia and highlighted the dismal growth in global merchandise trade in 2023. The report states that this situation is likely to impact economies where trade is a key driver of growth, such as Malaysia and Vietnam, where growth is forecast to be moderate. The World Bank’s report predicts that Vietnam’s GDP growth in 2023 will reach about 6%, which is a decrease of about 0.3 percentage points compared to the January forecast. On the other hand, Malaysia’s GDP is expected to grow 4.3% in 2023, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from the previous forecast. The recovery of the global tourism industry, driven by an increase in tourist arrivals from China, is expected to support the growth of economies heavily dependent on tourism, such as Thailand. First Vietnamese Restaurants Receive Michelin Star Ratings

Hanoi’s Gia, Tam Vi, and Hibana by Koki were awarded one star at an awards ceremony in the Vietnamese capital city on Tuesday. Along with Anan Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, they were the only restaurants to receive a one-star rating. Michelin’s rating system defines one Michelin Star as ‘high quality cooking, worth a stop.’ In addition to the one-star recipients, Anna Saigon is the only restaurant in Vietnam featured among the 50 best eateries in Asia, according to food and beverage specialist 50 Best. Michelin Star restaurants are recognized in The Michelin Guide, a guidebook published annually that reviews exceptional restaurants worldwide. Saved Monitor Lizard at Tourism Spot in South-Central Vietnam Averted Endangerment

The lizard weighs approximately five kilograms. Pham Minh Nhut, vice-chairman of the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, stated on Wednesday that employees at the Dac Nhan Tam tourist site in Dien Xuan Commune, under Dien Khanh District, discovered the lizard four days ago. The employees retrieved the monitor from the lake and took care of it. Vietnams Dong Thap Allocates $3.2 Million for Red-Crowned Crane Conservation Project

A flock of red-crowned cranes will live in their natural habitat at the Tram Chim National Park in the province’s Tam Nong District, with at least 50 of them living there for the 2023-33 period, according to data released at a meeting held by the provincial administration on Thursday. The project’s total funding will be allocated as follows: nearly VND13 billion ($555,687) for improving the habitat of the cranes, almost VND6 billion ($256,100) for organic agricultural production, and VND8 billion ($341,900) for tourism promotion. The objective of the project is to not only restore the crane population, but also protect biodiversity, recreate their natural habitats, and develop an environment for organic agricultural production to benefit local residents.
