Executive Committee of ASEAN Book Publishers Association Gathers in Vietnam for Annual Conference

The Vietnam Publishers Association (VPA) and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City are organizing an annual conference of the Executive Committee of the ASEAN Book Publishers Association (ABPA) and accompanying activities from September 14-19, VNA reported. The conference, which will take place on September 15, serves as a platform for ABPA members to exchange experiences and propose solutions to strengthen cooperation in the publishing industry within the region. Tragic Discovery of Dead Rare Turtle on Beach in Vietnam

The sea turtle, scientifically known as Chelonia Mydas, is listed as an endangered species by the government and is considered rare and valuable, prioritized for protection. The turtle, measuring over 1.1 meters in length and 60 centimeters in width, was found in a state of decay. According to a city official, the mature turtle was determined to be a female and weighed approximately 80 kilograms. It is believed that the reptile had died a few days prior to its discovery. An examination of the turtle revealed a long slash on its shell, suggesting that it may have been injured by a ship’s propeller while swimming. Da Nang Hosts Second Vietnam-RoK Festival

According to VNA, 28-year-old player Bao Phuong Vinh emerged victorious against Tran Quyet Chien in the All-Vietnam Final at the World 3-Card Carom Championship. In the Final match on the evening of September 10 in Ankara (Turkey), Phuong Vinh took the lead for most of the time, with the turning point being an 8-point series that put him ahead 29-22. While Quyet Chien struggled to gain momentum and continuously missed points, Phuong Vinh played more consistently and accumulated points.
