Vietnamese Athlete Secures Spot in 2024 Olympics

Tuyen performed exceptionally well in the qualifying round of the women’s 10m air rifle event at the Asian tournament, scoring an impressive 627.8 points. This secured her a place in the final. On the other hand, her teammate, Phi Thanh Thao, scored 625.2 points, which placed her in the 26th position, ending her run at the competition. Out of the eight finalists, five had already qualified for the Paris Olympics. Tuyen needed to outperform Amini Pozveh of Iran and Huiyi Tan of Singapore for one of the remaining two available Olympic berths. Guided by coach Nguyen Duy Hoang, Tuyen finished in fourth place overall with a score of 125.9, officially securing herself a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics, scheduled from July 26 to August 11. Marking the end of the Lunar New Year holiday, on the morning of the 7th day of Lunar New Year (January 28), Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a ceremony to lower the Neu pole and open the seal to greet the new year at The Mieu Temple and Trieu Mieu Temple – Imperial City. Vietnam Ranks First among Japan’s Foreign Worker Population

Photo: VNA Vietnamese nationals account for 25.4% of the total 1.82 million foreign workers who were working in Japan as of the end of October last year, VNA reported, citing the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The ministry’s data released on January 27 showed that a record 1,822,725 million foreign workers were working in Japan as of the end of October 2022, a rise of 5.5% from the same period of 2021. A Japan’s labour ministry official noted that growth has slowed since the start of the pandemic in 2020. Of the total foreign worker population, there were 462,384 Vietnamese nationals, 385,848 Chinese nationals, and 206,050 Filipinos, which made them the top three biggest communities.
