Photographer rises to fame for scores of winning artworks globally

Between September 2021 and March 2023, Vu Hai has participated in 368 photo contests in more than 70 countries across the globe. Among 6,354 works selected for exhibition, he has won a total of 1,128 awards, including 290 gold medals, 90 silver medals, 150 bronze medals, and 598 other noble distinctions. Vu Hai, 66, resides in Vinh Phuc province and is a member of the VAPA and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). With over 40 years in his career, he has traveled all over the country exploring the daily lives and traditional customs of the 54 ethnic groups residing in Vietnam.
He held two photo exhibitions in 2017 and 2018 featuring many pieces of work on landscapes and people nationwide. Photographed is a work on Lien Son bridge in his hometown of Vinh Phuc province.
Photographer Vu Hai has published two photo books comprising more than 700 photographic works that have documented the lives of Vietnamese people since 1980.
A photo taken by Vu Hai depicts Lan Ha Bay, a site which is located in the north of Ha Long Bay and Northwest of Cat Ba Island that contains 300 small islands in various shapes and sizes.
Vu Hai earns the “Excellence FIAP” (EFIAP) title granted by the FIAP. The title is awarded to photographic artists who, apart from having excellent techniques, have a significant number of their work often accepted in many international salons under FIAP Patronage.
